The Headmistress of Rosemere

It was fun to revisit William Sterling in The Headmistress of Rosemere by Sarah E. Ladd!

William was a scoundrel in The Heiress of Winterwood; but in her latest novel, Sarah develops his character in such a way that you can understand why he has made so many poor choices thus far in his life.

The story opens with William being chased down and horribly beaten, due to a large amount of money he owes.  He ends up in the stable of Rosemere, a girls private school, to whom he leases a plot of his land.  Thus begins the story of his friendship with Patience Creighton, the headmistress of this school.  Still single at the age of 25, Patience considers herself a spinster.  She has no idea what is to come after she meets William!

Hang on for the ride as William and Patience develop their friendship and in the last pages of this story, learn of a dark secret from William’s past that touches them all!

Carolina Gold

In Dorothy Love's latest novel, Carolina Gold, Charlotte Fraser and Nicholas Betancourt meet as they both are trying to find the answer about ownership to some land in South Carolina (they each feel they are entitled to). In those times, shortly after the Civil War, answers were hard to find!

This novel was not as easy to read as Dorothy Love’s previous novels; however, it is worth the time to learn the final answer!!

I, Saul

Jerry Jenkins brings the following scripture to life in his newest novel titled I, Saul.

2 Timothy 9-12
Do your best to come to me quickly, for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia.  Only Luke is with me.  Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry.  I sent Tychicus to Ephesus.  When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, and my scrolls, especially the parchments.

As always, Jerry Jenkins has filled this novel full of suspense and action as he moves between current day and 1st century Rome.  First, you will follow Augustine Knox, a young seminary professor, from Texas to Italy, as he rushes to the distress call of a dear friend.  Then, you will find yourself in a dark dungeon, as Luke hurries to the side of his dear friend, Paul, the apostle.

So many details will come out of both storylines.  Hang on for a wild ride!!!!!
