The Nature of a Lady, by Roseanna M. White, is a tale set in the early 1900s.  Lady Elizabeth Sinclair is looking to escape her brother's attempts to marry her off.  Her lady's maid, Mabena, has the perfect solution.  A summer vacation on the isle of St. Mary's: a favorite vacation spot for many in the upper class!

From the moment Elizabeth (Libby) sets foot on this island, mysteries seems to flourish.  First, the cottage that Libby rented has been recently abandoned by another Elizabeth (Beth) and this woman is now missing.  Next, she meets Oliver Tremayne, a local clergyman who has come to the island to discover the whereabouts of his sister, Beth.  Libby had met Oliver earlier in her life and found in him a kindred-spirit.  You soon get the sense that this spirit is still alive and thriving!

This is an interesting tale to follow, as these three make their way around the islands looking for Beth.  You will learn a lot of interesting truths about all three by the end of this tale!

Present Danger, by Elizabeth Goddard, is another tale full of action and suspense as you watch Jack Tanner and Terra Connors attempt to discover who is responsible for the deaths that keep occurring in the national forest!

With all the time that Jack and Terra are spending together, you begin to wonder if their former relationship will suddenly spring back to life.  However, Terra can barely take it when the evidence begins to point back at her own family!

When the investigation begins to focus on a tragic accident that occurred fifteen years ago killing Terra's mother, Jack and Terra are not sure which way to look for answers.  The final pages of this book get extremely complicated when you learn that one of the main characters is not who you think he is!

This is definitely a tale you do not want to miss!

Dreams Rekindled, by Amanda Cabot, will again take you to Mesquite Springs, Texas, in the 1850's.  While her brother Wyatt is away on his honeymoon, Dorothy Clark has left the family ranch to work at Polly's Place.  However, it is not her dream job to work in a restaurant.  Ever since Dorothy read Harriet Beecher Stowe's book, Uncle Tom's Cabin, she has dreamed of touching lives with prose!

Dorothy cannot believe it when soon after her first day on the job, she meets Brandon Holloway,  a newcomer to Mesquite Springs who has plans to open the town's first newspaper.  Before you know it, Dorothy and Brandon are not only starting to build a friendship, but also a working relationship!

Dorothy agrees to use her writing skills to assist Brandan with the newspaper's start-up.  You will not believe the situations that these two are confronted with by the end of this tale!

Court of Swans, by Melanie Dickson, is a tale that takes place in the Middle Ages.  The year is 1381 and Delah fears her world is about to change in a very negative way.  Her father just died and her seven brothers have been accused of another murder and given a death sentence!

This is an interesting tale to follow as Delah attempts to find a way to save her brothers lives.  She teams up with Sir Geoffrey.  Geoffrey is an unlikely partner, as he was one of the King's soldiers who initially came to arrest her brothers!

It is interesting to see all of the dangerous situations in which Geoffrey and Delia find themselves.  Delia just does not know who she can trust to help fulfill her plan.  Hang on until the final page to see what Geoffrey and Delia are able to accomplish!

From This Moment

 


From this Moment, by Kim Vogel Sawyer, is a tale about a young man attempting to overcome the grief he feels after the death of his fiance.  Jase Edgar relocates from San Diego to a rural town in Kansas to start a new job.  Not only is the weather totally different, but the culture is different as well!

Jase's new job is as pastor to the youth at a church in town and the congregation welcomes him with open arms.  As Jase attempts to fit into his new surroundings, he meets Lori Fowler.  Lori is the new custodian at the church.  After Lori sets her eyes on Jase, she cannot look away.  Lori struggles with her weight, so she feels she cannot compare to Jase: a man she sees as perfect!

This is a very interesting tale.  You learn that several people in this small town have a connection you would never have imagined.  You also will see the healing hand of God in both Lori and Jase's lives!

The Vanishing of Loxby Manor

 











The Vanishing of Loxby Manor, by Abigail Wilson, is a mystery with questions around every corner.  This tale takes place in England in the early 1800s.  Charity Halliwell returns home after years away.  She is planning on spending some time with her childhood friend, Seline Cavanaugh, and Charity soon discovers that Saline is as flighty as she remembered.  Seline has acted inappropriately with the family stable hand and her mother feels the family reputation will be ruined.  The situation gets even worse when Seline disappears the very evening that Charity arrives!

Charity soon teams up with Piers Cavanaugh, the elder son in the Cavanaugh family, in an attempt to discover where Seline could be.  As Piers and Charity were formerly friends,  it is interesting to see how this friendship is revived with all the time they spend together as they search!

This tale is full of unknowns and many dark moments before you are finally able to put the pieces of this mystery together and discover what really happened to Seline!

When Twilight Breaks is the latest tale from Sarah Sundin.  The year is 1938 and WWII is about to begin.  When Evelyn Brand is shut down for trying to do some hard reporting on Hitler's activity in Germany, she is instead given a less serious assignment about student life at German universities!

Once Evelyn arrives in Munich, she begins by interviewing American professor, Peter Lang, a man who is trying to complete his PhD in German.  These two could not be more opposite!

After Evelyn learns that three of her grandparents are Jewish, almost immediately her life becomes full of danger and fear.  Watch as Evelyn and Peter search to find a safe exit from the violence-filled land!
