Kilpack, takes place in Bingham, Nottinghamshire, England in the year 1819.  Deborah Winfrey is preparing to host a Christmas party in her home.  However, what she does not count on is her own mother getting involved in her personal life.  Before she knows it, two men are trying to gain her attention!

McConkie, is a novella that tells a tale similar to A Christmas Carol.  Mr. John Charleston journeys to London to deliver important information to Lady Caroline Morleigh.  Somehow John survives Caroline’s difficult personality and finds himself traveling with her to his home.  You wonder if Caroline’s personality will make a turn in a positive direction after spending time with John and his family.  Will they all experience a Merry Christmas?

Christmas Forevermore opens with A Family Christmas, by Sally Britton Early one winter morning Jane Allen is accosted by her two young cousins.  She works are as a paid companion to these girls grandmother; however, Jane always has time for fun.  As she prepares to run out into the snow with the youngsters, Jane runs headlong into Cyril Grant.  Watch what happens as Jane attempts to help Cyril, who has lived in the Caribbean for years, fit in with his family.  Cyril will bond with more than just his family by the end of this tale!


The next tale is Christmas Forevermore, by Sarah Eden You meet Minna Schofield on the first page.  Her father had left her with enough money to support herself in her single state; however, a London busybody has declared that she will find a husband for Minna by Christmas Day.  This woman has set up three candidates as potential mates.   As you wonder what Minna will think of these men, you are introduced to her dear friend Rupert Crawford.  You wonder if anything with develop between these old friends.  This is a fun tale by an awesome author!


Christmas at Cranfield, by Ashtyn Newbold, opens with Hannah Somerton yet again trying to keep her crush on her best friend, Samuel Merchant, a secret from her family.  She has not seen Samuel in four long years; however, when she finally arrives at Cranfield, Hannah learns that Samuel is soon to be married.  You will be surprised by how this delightful tale ends!


A Thrill of Hope, by Karen Thornell, wraps up this book filled with Christmas novellas.  Isabel Reid is planning a trip.  She is surprised when Mr. Collingham’s son, Robert, shows up to deliver her to her destination .  After some rough weather, Isabel and Robert finally arrive at her aunt’s house.  Soon they both realize her aunt is intent on some matchmaking.  As Isobel and Robert interact with each other in and about her aunt’s home, you wonder if Isobel has discovered a new friend to help cover the hardships she has experienced in her life!

An Inconvenient Letter


 










An Inconvenient Letter, by Julie Wright, introduces Marietta Stone on the opening page of this tale.  This young woman has secretly been in love with Frederick Finch for years and she has poured out her heart on paper.  However, when these letters are accidentally sent to Frederick’s home, all Marietta can think of is retrieving  these items before they end up in the wrong person’s hands!


Those hands end up being Frederick’s cousin, Gerald Hartwell.  This gentleman man is looking for a way to financially save his late father’s estate and these letters look like the perfect opportunity.  Gerald hopes to make some kind of bargain with Marietta!


You wonder what will happen when Gerald suddenly wants this pretend romance to be something very real.  This is definitely a tale not to be missed!

In Windsong Manor, by Julie Wright, you will meet Eleanor Coventry on the opening page.  Nora, who married a much older gentleman at the age of fifteen, is now twenty-seven.  As her husband, Lord Coventry, is dying, Nora learns that, besides caring for her own son, she must also raise this man’s illegitimate daughter after his death.  This situation is almost too much!


After her husband’s death, Nora moves her family to Windsong Manor, one of her family’s estates in the countryside.   She hopes this move will have a positive effect on both of her children.  When Nora and her family meet Ridley Ellis, one of the stable masters, they have no idea how their lives are about to change!  


Ridley seems to have a way with both horses and with people.  You’ll be surprised, when the secret Ridley has been hiding, finally comes to light!

Lady of Disguise, by Melanie Dickerson, introduces Louisa.  This young girl, living in the year 1388, feels she must protect her younger sister after her father passes away.  Her greedy uncle has plans to marry both girls off to the highest bidder.  Soon Louisa disguises herself as a young boy to go in search of a treasure her father had always talked about!


Sir Charles is a knight, who quickly sees through Louisa’s disguise, when they meet in the woods early one morning.   As Charles and Louisa journey together, a friendship and maybe something more slowly grows!


You will be surprised by what Charles and Louisa encounter as they climb the mountain to find the treasure.  A treasure will appear in a place neither would have imagined!

Against the Wind

 











Against the Wind, by Amanda Cabot, tells the tale of Louisa Vaughn.  Louisa had left Sweetwater Crossing to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor.  Now she is returning to her hometown, as an escort to the town’s doctor’s widow to attend his funeral.  However, when she passes an injured man on her way into town, Louisa knows this will not be a quick visit!

As Joshua Porter is traveling across the country, his horse suddenly flings him off.  He lands on the hard ground and ends up with a lump on his head and a broken leg.  When Louisa comes upon him, she knows she must transport him to Sweetwater Crossing and set his leg.  Josh is disappointed because the situation will cause a delay in his plan to try to inherit his family’s business!


After Louisa moves Josh into Finley House, her family home, to recuperate, she realizes much has changed since her departure.  When the doctor’s widow gives her his old office in town, Louisa must rethink her desire to leave!


Watch as Louisa tries to find a place for herself in her hometown and you wonder if there will also be a spot for Josh!

Fragile Designs




















Fragile Designs, by Colleen Coble, opens with Carly Harris finding her husband dead on the floor of her shop filled with her great-grandmother’s collectibles.  She had wanted to share news with him of her pregnancy, now she must focus on setting up a funeral!


Two months after Carly’s baby is born, she begins looking through paperwork her great-grandmother had left her.  She discovers evidence indicating that her grandmother was actually adopted.  Carly has no idea how she will  respond to this information. The adoption paperwork also indicates that her grandmother actually had a twin sister who was also placed!


When Carly discovers a valuable Faberge egg amongst her great-grandmother’s possessions, she knows she must find someone to assist in protecting this amazing find.  Carly turns to Lucas Bennett, a former acquaintance and more importantly, a police officer.  As these two begin looking for the truth about this egg, you will not believe how the pieces of this tale come together by the final page!
