Over the Edge

Over the Edge, by Irene Hannon, will grab your attention from page one.  Lindsey Barnes, who works as a private chef, gets caught up in a traumatic situation in the midst of her work day.  She finds the body of her boss on the floor of the kitchen and unfortunately she hears the sound of someone in the bathroom.  Is it possible the murderer is still in the house?  Lindsey is able to hide until this individual exists the house; however, now the police may consider her a witness to this crime!

Police detective, Jack Turner, is brought in to help solve this case.  Things seem to crawl to a dead end, but Lindsey recalls enough details to breathe some life back into finding a solution.  As she keeps having experiences that no one can find evidence of, some begin doubting Lindsey’s sanity!

It is interesting to watch Jack and Lindsey work together to finally discover who is behind all of the mayhem!

The Cloverton Charade

 

On the opening pages of The Cloverton Charade, by Sarah E. Ladd, you will see Olivia Brannon heading to Cloverton Hall to assist with evaluating their collection of jewelry and gems.  Olivia’s dream of being valued for her professional reputation might finally be coming to fruition.  She knows her life is definitely about to change.  The only difficulty is that the owner of the collection insists that Olivia keep her work a secret!

Lucas Avery, the son of a rival antiquity's seller, has also been invited to the country party being held at Cloverton Hall.  The new owner wants his assistance with selling the family collection.  Unfortunately, this means Lucas will be in direct competition with Olivia!

When Olivia is asked to spy on Lucas to discover what he is up to, she feels it is a step too far.  Before you know it, Lucas has discovered that something shady is going on and he forms a team with Olivia to discover what exactly is going on at Cloverton Hall.  You will be surprised to learn how many familiar faces are involved!

The Letter from Briarton Park

 

The Letter from Briarton Park, by Sarah E. Ladd, is the first book in her The Houses of Yorkshire series.  Cassandra Hale learns that the woman, who had served both as her mother and her employer, has been lying to her.  As this woman lies dying, she gives Cassandra a letter from Robert Clark.  This man indicates he has information to share with her if she can come to his home at Briarton Park.  The letter was dated two and a half years ago!

This is an interesting tale as you follow Cassandra when she seeks to locate Mr. Clark and instead finds an individual who may change her life completely.  Definitely a storyline that will not to be soon forgotten!

The Christmas Tree Farm

 

The Christmas Tree Farm, by Melody Carlson, is a fun novella for the holiday season.  Madison McDowell surprises her sister, Addie, when she suddenly shows up at their family farm. After a lengthy commitment to teach English to students in Mongolia, she is home to help wherever she can.    Unfortunately, Addie does not seem excited that Madison is home!

Gavin Thompson, a face from Madison’s past, suddenly shows up on the scene.  He is now her neighbor and wants to build a motorbike park right next door.  This is the last thing Madison is interested in!

Ever since her first kiss with Gavin when Madison was just fifteen years old, she had not forgotten this man.  However, now her sister, Addie, seems to have an interest in him.  You wonder what will happen by the end of this tale!

Target Acquired

Target Acquired, by Lynette Eason, opens with SWAT medic Kenzie King heading to a crime scene.  She is trying so hard to fit in with this team.  After a member of her team is injured by stray bullets, she follows up on his status.  As she is leaving the hospital, Kenzie’s life is seriously impacted when a car attempts to run her down!

Sargent Cole Garrison, the SWAT team leader, has a problem on his hands.  Not only is he drawn towards Kenzie, he is concerned that some of the team may not have her back if any more danger appears.  However, when someone up to no good shows up at Kenzie’s home, Cole knows they are after her!

Hold tight to see who and what Kenzie and Cole come up against as they dig through all the unknowns.  You will not believe who is identified in the end!

The Knight and the Dove, by Lori Wick, completes her Kensington Chronicles series.  This tale begins in the year 1531.  Megan has lived at the convent with the nuns for several years; however, now she has been called home.  She cannot believe the reason why.  Her father is sending her to meet her intended, Bracken of Hawkings Crest!

After her mother sends her away unexpectedly, Megan shows up with no one aware that she was coming.  This does not bode well for her introduction to her new home!

This is an interesting tale as you see Megan and Bracken grow in their marriage as well as deal with many changes along the way!

Who Brings Forth the Wind

 

Who Brings Forth the Wind, by Lori Wick, is an interesting tale set in London, England.  The year is 1853 and Stacey Daniel’s is making her first trip from the country to visit her Aunt Lucinda in town.  London will prove to more than Stacey could have imagined!

Once she meets Lord Tanner Richardson, the Duke of Cambridge, her world begins to change.  Tanner is a brooding man; however, Stacey cannot help but be drawn toward him!

Before you know it, Tanner, the man who vowed to never marry again, actually asks Stacey to be his wife.  After what appears to be starting off as a warm relationship, Tanner sends Stacey away when he assumes she is unfaithful.  Hold tight to find out if their marriage is ever resolved!
