Marshaling Her Heart, by Mary Connelly, brings her Wyoming Sunrise series to a close.  Becky Pruitt has been working closely with Nate Paxton, her ranch’s foreman.  Nate is a former U.S. Marshal and wants to use her ranch as a staging area for other Marshals to try to bring down the Deadeye Gang.  Becky is not so sure of this plan!

However, after Becky’s father attacks her and she suspects he might be involved with this gang, she knows she needs help.  Soon, Nate and Becky are traveling with the Marshals who are following behind a group they believe to be the Deadeye gang.  Their target seems to be a train carrying a gold shipment!

After the marshals capture the majority of the Deadeye gang and stop the robbery from taking place, Becky’s father is absolutely fuming.  All he can focus on is getting his hands on his daughter.  When Becky is grabbed as she is riding for home, you wonder if she will survive!

This is an interesting tale to follow until the very last page!

The Laws of Attraction, by Mary Connealy, opens with a “little boy” heading into Nell Armstrong’s dress shop looking for a place to hide.  When his father, Brand Nolte, comes in not far behind, Nell learns that this child is not a boy but rather a girl!

Samantha Nolte is actually soon to turn sixteen years old, while her younger sisters, Cassandra and Michaela, are thirteen and seven years old.  Brand has his hands full in deciding how to raise his young daughters.  It seems that Nell has arrived on the scene in just the nick of time!

Not only is Nell hired to sew new dresses for these sisters, she will soon become so much more in their world.  When Samantha is attacked on their family farm by a member of a deadly gang, you wonder how the lives of this family will change.  Will Nell help to bring some normalcy to their world?

Forged in Love

 

Forged in Love, by Mary Connealy, opens with Mariah Stover traveling with father and older brother.  The stagecoach is attached by a group of robbers.  Unfortunately, after fighting diligently with their own weapons, all three are shot.  Mariah is the only one to make it out alive!

Clint Roberts, who owns a diner in town, had been waiting for Mariah to arrive in town.  When he learns of the fate of the stagecoach, he heads out to discover Mariah’s fate.  Clint finds her trapped under the coach!

Once they transport her to town and discover she is still alive, the sheriff tells a select few that they must hide her away to keep her safe from the robbers.  The easiest spot is above Clint’s diner.  Once Mariah starts feeling better, she decides to return to her work in her father’s forge.  This lets everyone in town know she is still alive.  When her first day back in the forge results in an unexpected explosion and after Mariah is bit by a rattlesnake, you think the robbers may be trying to keep her silent!

You wonder if they will ever discover the individual who is behind all these attempts on Mariah’s life!

Break My Fall

 

Break My Fall, by Lynn H. Blackburn, introduces Dr. Meredith Quinn.  As she works out of her mobile dental van in the rural mountains of western North Carolina, Meredith finds herself in some very interesting situations.  One evening when she is heading home, after visiting a patient in the mountains, she suddenly finds herself out of gas!

Grayson Ward, the local sheriff, drives up behind her and discovers that her tire was deliberately punctured.  He is definitely concerned that Meredith may be the target of someone up to no good!

Even though Meredith promises not to leave home alone in the future, Gray cannot let her out of his sight.  In order to keep her safe from the nearby drug dealing criminals, he becomes her constant companion.  Gray even ends up going to a wedding, filled with many individuals of this criminal element, to keep her safe!

When Meredith and Gray finally leave the wedding, you know it will not be long before bullets start flying.  You just hope they will survive the madness!

Claiming the Cowgirl

 

Claiming the Cowgirl, by Jody Hedlund, tells the story of Serena Taylor.  She must find a husband and she is using a list to help her focus on her selection.  After Serena’s husband died this past summer, she is heading back to her family’s home in Oklahoma.  After her father-in-law tried to take custody of her 2-year-old son, Serena’s number one priority is to find a safe man to build a life with!

When Serena’s stops in Fairplay, Colorado along the way, you will be surprised at what happens in this town.  Shortly after Serena adds Weston Oakley to her list of possible husbands, his housekeeper actually declares to one of his brothers that they are married!

Before you know it, Serena and Weston are traveling to his family’s ranch to celebrate Christmas.  It will be interesting to see what comes of this quick marriage, without really knowing each other first!

This is an interesting novella to follow, especially when her former father-in-law shows up in town!

Captivated by the Cowgirl, by Jody Hedlund, tells the tale of what occurs in Felicity Courtney’s life after her older sisters marry and move on with the lives.  Several men around town want to put a ring on her finger; however, Felicity wants to handle the homestead on her own.  When her health begins to suffer, she decides to hire help.  You will be surprised when the man who ends up helping her is Philip Berg.  Felicity has been bantering in jest with this man for months!

Little does Felicity know that Philip is actually a Prince in disguise, hiding all this time from an assassin.  After he comes out to her homestead and assists her during a snowstorm, Felicity sees a whole new side of Philip!

When the storm finally subsides, Felicity learns the truth about who Philip really is and she is definitely not happy about being kept in the dark.  This storyline takes a new twist when the assassin finally shows his face.  Hold tight to see where Felicity and Philip land by the final page!

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn

 

Second Chance at Sunshine Inn, by Amy Clipston, opens with Everleigh McFadden learning, at the reading of her godmother, Alana’s will, that she is a fifty-percent owner of her bed-and-breakfast.  Cade Witherson, her partner in this inn, had made a promise to Alana to keep everything running.  However, once Everleigh arrives on the scene, he realizes this with be no easy task!

Everleigh is more focused on selling the inn to move the funds toward a neonatal non-profit than maintaining Alana’s dream.  It is interesting to watch what happens in the midst of this conflict.  Cade suddenly is contacted by his half-brother.  His mother had never told anyone about this secret from her past.  This new reality will forever change Cade’s life!

You wonder how Everleigh and Cade will finally handle, not only their joint ownership of the inn, but also their growing feelings for each other!
