No Way Up

Mary Conneally's latest book, No Way Up, starts with a bang.  As Chance Boden, the patriarch of the Cimarron ranch, heads out with some of his cowboys to gather up part of his herd that has run off, they are suddenly caught in the middle of an avalanche!

Once the final rock has fallen, Chance seems to have suffered the worst of the injures.  His leg has been broken to the point that part of the bone is protruding through the skin!  One of the cowboys, Heath Kincaid, uses his knowledge of first aid, to clean the injury to the point that Chance can be transferred to Denver to have surgery performed.  Before he leaves, Chance has a message for his three children.  He has changed his will and and it states that Cole, Justin and Sadie must remain on the ranch for an entire year or the property will be given to a distant relative upon Chance's death.  This is a hard charge for three siblings who do not get along and have work they would rather perform elsewhere!

Once it appears the their father's life has been saved and they learn that the avalanche had been intentionally started, these siblings slowly learn to get along as they attempt to discover who may be behind the attempt on their father's life.  Hold on until the final pages to learn who was behind the avalanche.  You will also get a glimpse at the growing relationship between Heath and Sadie!

An Uncommon Courtship

In Kristi Hunter's latest book, An Uncommon Courtship, you will meet Lady Adelaide Bell and Lord Trent Hawthorne on their wedding day.  They had never previously met; however, after they are found in a compromising situation, they are compelled to solve the problem by simply getting married.  After their wedding, when Trent quickly takes Adelaide off to his home in London, you have no idea what will happen next!

After a wedding night that does not come about as you would expect, you are left with two adults who do not know how to take the next step with each other.  After a week of Trent basically ignoring his new wife, he decides the answer is simple, he must simply begin again, by courting his wife.  Adelaide is not sure what to expect next!

You will be interested to see how both Adelaide and Trent learn to truly love each other, the way God intended it to happen!

This way a fun tale to read about the Hawthorne family.  I can only hope that this series will end telling the story of the oldest Hawthorne, Griffin, the Duke of Hawthorne.  We will have to wait and see!

Because You're Mine

The latest book from Collen Coble, entitled Because You're Mine, will keep you on the edge of your seat.  You will meet Alanna and her husband, Liam, as the celtic band they are both members of is closing up their latest performance.  After the concert ends, Liam heads out with his best friend, Jesse, to check out his new car.  Alanna is left behind to worry about whether her voice will hold up during future concerts.  Suddenly, the unthinkable happens.  The car transporting these two men becomes a ball of fire, after a bomb explodes!

When Alanna learns that Liam has died in the explosion, she immediately accompanies his body back to Ireland for burial.  Not only does she not know which way to turn now that Liam is gone, she encounters new trouble from Liam's parents.  When Alanna shares with them that she is four months pregnant, her father-in-law threatens to take custody of her baby.  Alanna knows she must seek a place of safety and before you know it, she is marrying her band manager, Barry, to ensure custody of her child.  The only thing she does not realize is that the world that Barry will draw her into is scarier than Alanna could ever have imagined!

After Jesse recovers, the band adds him to the group to replace Liam for the remainder of their tour.  As you watch Alanna try to figure out what Barry's intentions are for her, you will also see Alanna try to adjust to Jesse, who for some reason is behaving a lot like Liam.  He seems to know details about her life that she only had shared with Liam.  Hang on until the last page to find out where Alanna ends up and who will be by her side!

Edgar has successfully made his way in the world and has returned to New York to discover if all is truly over between himself and Wilhelmina.  Edgar is ready to make a commitment and needs to attain this information!

You will soon learn that they lost their friendship the day that his older brother, Scotty, died!

When suddenly Abigail and Ross are competing against each other in a fishing contest, they still seem to be at odds with each other.  You have no idea what will happen to their struggling relationship by the end of this endeavour!
