From This Moment

From this Moment, by Kim Vogel Sawyer, is a tale about a young man attempting to overcome the grief he feels after the death of his fiance.  Jase Edgar relocates from San Diego to a rural town in Kansas to start a new job.  Not only is the weather totally different, but the culture is different as well!

Jase's new job is as pastor to the youth at a church in town and the congregation welcomes him with open arms.  As Jase attempts to fit into his new surroundings, he meets Lori Fowler.  Lori is the new custodian at the church.  After Lori sets her eyes on Jase, she cannot look away.  Lori struggles with her weight, so she feels she cannot compare to Jase: a man she sees as perfect!

This is a very interesting tale.  You learn that several people in this small town have a connection you would never have imagined.  You also will see the healing hand of God in both Lori and Jase's lives!

I received a copy of this book from Waterbrook Publishers. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Vanishing of Loxby Manor

The Vanishing of Loxby Manor, by Abigail Wilson, is a mystery with questions around every corner.  This tale takes place in England in the early 1800s.  Charity Halliwell returns home after years away.  She is planning on spending some time with her childhood friend, Seline Cavanaugh, and Charity soon discovers that Saline is as flighty as she remembered.  Seline has acted inappropriately with the family stable hand and her mother feels the family reputation will be ruined.  The situation gets even worse when Seline disappears the very evening that Charity arrives!

Charity soon teams up with Piers Cavanaugh, the elder son in the Cavanaugh family, in an attempt to discover where Seline could be.  As Piers and Charity were formerly friends,  it is interesting to see how this friendship is revived with all the time they spend together as they search!

This tale is full of unknowns and many dark moments before you are finally able to put the pieces of this mystery together and discover what really happened to Seline!

I received this e-book  from Thomas Nelson through netgalley.com.
