Foremost

Jody Hedlund has added, Foremost, to her Lost Princesses series.  This tale is an exciting continuation to the storyline that began in the novella, Always.  After the death of their parents, three princesses have been scattered throughout the kingdom of Mercia for their protection.  Lady Maribela has been living in an isolated abbey and is planning on becoming a nun herself to use the art of healing that she has developed!

When an elderly nun visits the abbey, she comes bearing news.  Lady Maribela is actually one of the lost princesses and now must be secretly transported to meet up with her older sister, Queen Adelaide.  Edmund Chambers, who came to the abbey as a young boy at the same time as Maribela, is chosen as the man to assist Mariabela on her journey!

This is an interesting tale, as you see how Edmund is able to keep Maribela protected on their journey north, through dangerous territory.  It is also interesting to see how God provides a new opportunity for Maribela to utilize her healing skills in a brand new way!

I received a copy of this book from the author, in exchange for my honest review.

Evermore

Jody Hedlund's newest tale, Evermore, will introduce you to Adelaide, the oldest daughter of the former king and queen of Mercia.  Adelaide has been raised, as an orphan, with a family loyal to the previous king and queen.  This family has done all they could to keep Adelaide hidden from King Ethelwulf!

On Adelaide's 20th birthday, the truth begins to come to light.  The nun, who originally delivered Adelaide to this safe haven, re-enters the scene to announce to Adelaide that the time has come for her to reclaim her throne!

This news comes as a surprise to Adelaide.  She knows her life is about to dramatically change!

Hang on and watch as Adelaide and her adopted brothers, Christopher and Mitchell, attempt to outmaneuver King Ethelwulf!

Always

Always is the prequel novella that introduces Jody Hedlund's latest series, The Lost Princesses.  On the opening pages of this tale, the king and queen of Mercia are both close to death.   The queen, from complications of childbirth and the king, from wounds of war.  Lady Felicia, one of the queen's ladies in-waiting, and Lance, a member of the King's elite guards, are asked to gather their children and escape from the castle to protect them from the royal family's enemy, King Ethelwulf!

Felicia and Lance slowly learn to work together, as they attempt to protect the newborn twins, as well as the 3-year daughter, from harm!

This book is a quick read and a great introduction to this new series!

The Words Between Us

The latest book from Erin Bartels is The Words Between Us.   I love this original title and Erin has written a tale that is just as original!

Through the words of this book, you will walk with Robin Windsor in her current life, as well as, in the days following both her parents being locked up in prison.  You will experience Robin's frustration as an adult attempting to keep her bookstore functioning, and you will also see her life as a teenager trying to fit in somewhere!

Your heart will go out to her, when she loses the boy she fell in love with as a young woman; and you will experience her joy, when God brings a new love across her path as a grown woman!

This is definitely a tale not to be missed!

I received this book from Revell in exchange for my honest review.

The Piper's Pursuit

Melanie Dickerson's latest young-adult novel, The Piper's Pursuit, is a play on the age-old Grimms fairy tale, The Pied Piper.  This new tale is set in the middle ages in a town by the name of Hamlin; however, you will also encounter out-of-control rats, as well as a character, who uses flute playing to control the young children in this town!

The main characters in this tale, Katerina and Steffan, will take up the fight against this evil character, who is using his control of the children in a way you would never imagine.  By the final page you will see Katerina and Steffan utilize their faith in God to bring them through this trial!

I received this book from Thomas Nelson through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
