Almost a Bride

Almost A Bride, by Jody Hedlund, is the latest tale in her Bride Ships series.  After her journey on the latest bride ship from England, Kate Millington arrives in British Columbia intent on building her new life.  The main problem is that Kate cannot make up her mind on the man she should marry.  Kate rejects one man soon after arriving in this new land and now, after making a commitment to a second man, she finds she cannot go through with this promise either.  To make matters worse, Kate looks across the street in this dusty western town and sees Zeke Hart, a man she grew up with in Manchester, England!

After growing up in poverty, Zeke Hart is now the richest man in town.  He has his hands in a number of different business; however, when Zeke discovers gold in the hills, he knows his way is set.  Now he cannot believe it when he realizes that this new beautiful woman in town is actually his childhood friend's little sister!

Zeke quickly forms an interest in pursuing Kate; however, it seems someone is out to slow his progress.  Zeke wonders if they are jealous of his riches or simply his interest in making Kate his wife.  The other blockade in his way is Kate's desire to marry a man who shares her faith.  Unfortunately, after several trials in his life, Zeke has walked away from God!

This is an interesting tale to follow as both Zeke and Kate have interesting challenges to overcome!
