Distant Echoes

Distant Echoes is the first tale in Colleen Coble’s Aloha Reef series. On the opening page, you will see Kaia Ona swimming in the turquoise waves of Hawaii alongside her dolphin, Nani, who has joined a pod in these waters. This peaceful day is soon interrupted by an explosion. A tourist boat suddenly goes up in flames. Kaia does not know what to think when she learns it was due to the testing of a missile defense system gone awry!

Lieutenant Commander Jesse Matthews has his hands full trying to clean up this mess. Jesse is amazed when he witnesses Kaia communicate with the dolphins with a whistle. When Kaia and her dolphin, Nani, are brought in to patrol the waters near the base, you will soon see Kaia and Jesse’s relationship grow to something she never imagined!

While vacationing in Florida, Ranger crosses paths with Noemi Sutton. This beautiful, amateur photographer may change Ranger’s life in a big way! 

Four years later, Ranger, as a former Navy SEAL, travels to Nigeria to assist in the rescue of a group that has been kidnapped (this group includes his brother Cole). When he arrives on the scene, Ranger is surprised to find that Noemi is among these hostages! 

You will learn a bit about Nigeria as Noemi and Ranger attempt to find a way to escape this nightmare. Just when you think they are finally safe, you realize the danger has followed them all the way to Ranger’s home in Alaska. This tale has an ending you would never have imagined!

The woman he wants to marry is interested in choosing another man. Previously he had been the one to reject the woman. This is far from ideal because Edward has plans to find the ideal wife! 

Amelia Kennington, daughter of a duke, has escaped her family’s London home to find reprieve from her hateful older sister. Unfortunately, she encounters Edward in the park and they end up in a rather compromising situation. Before they know it, Amelia is married to this former rake! 

 Watch, as Edward and Amelia slowly get acquainted. There will be many surprises along the way!

Harvest Moon

 

Harvest Moon, by Denise Hunter, is the final book in her Riverbend Romance series. This tale opens up with a bang. Gavin Robinson receives the news that his best friend and his wife have died in a plane crash. Unfortunately, their two-year-old daughter, Emma, is left alone! 

When Gavin and his ex-wife, Laurel, learn that they have been named as Emma’s guardians, they are not exactly sure how to move forward. They not only have baggage from their time together to deal with, but they must help a young child who is missing her parents! 

You will get glimpses of Gavin and Laurel’s lives in the days they were dating and then married. Finally, you will learn of a death that would tear them apart! As you watch Gavin and Laurel help Emma adjust to the absence of her parents, you wonder if they will be able to restore their broken marriage, as well!
