The Earl's Betrothal

The Earl's Betrothal, written by Karen Tuft, continues the story of the Hargreaves family.  The younger sister, Louisa, was married in the first tale, Wager for a Wife.  This second tale begins with the Hargreaves family deep in mourning, thinking the two sons of the family, Alex and Anthony, are both dead.  When suddenly Anthony shows up at the door very much alive, the lifeblood of this family is super renewed!

After initial rejoicing about the son who has returned home, the father of this dynasty insists that his son produce an heir to protect the family line.  Anthony, still struggling with trauma from his time battling in the war, has other things on his mind!

It is interesting to see where this tale will take all of the characters in this family.  You wonder if Anthony will eventually find relief from his time at war and if his peace will come from the woman he marries in the end!
