The Summer of You and Me

The Summer of You and Me, by Denise Hunter, tells of Maggie Reynolds returning to Seabrook, North Carolina.  She plans to spend the summer with her young daughter at her in-laws beach house.  However, when they visit a local carnival, Maggie catches sight of a man who looks just like her husband Ethan, who died five years ago!

It is interesting to watch Maggie and her former brother-in-law Josh attempt to track down this man who actually may be her former husband.  When they discover that this look-a-like is much younger than her husband, they must change the focus of their search!

When Maggie makes contact with the mother of this man, you will be surprised at what she learns.  This tale will turn on a dime with this new information!

Unforgotten

In Unforgotten, by Shelley Shepard Gray, you will see Bethanne Hostetler reconnect with Jay Byler.  They had formerly been friends; however, after his best friend Peter had abused her, Bethanne has stayed far, far away.  Little does she know Jay has had warm feelings towards for years!

When Bethanne learns that her cousin Candace, who has recently won a local beauty contest, is dealing with a stalker, she worries that Candace is in danger.  After Candace contacts the local police, she meets Ryan Mulaney.  This officer begins to escort her on her many appearances.  This definitely gives everyone some peace of mind!

However, when this stalker abducts both Candace and Bethanne, you have no idea if these two young women will ever find freedom again!

Deadly Revenge

Deadly Revenge, by Patricia Bradley, introduces Chattanooga Detective Jenna Hart.  She is gathering intel on some local drug dealers.  Along the way, Jenna reconnects with Agent Maxwell Anderson.  The attraction they formerly felt still seems to be very close to the surface!

This tale gets interesting as Jenna and Max work together on a case involving the tragic death of a city councilman.  When another former councilman  seems to be targeted as well, you know this case has just gotten bigger and definitely more dangerous!

After another dead body shows up, Jenna and Max have two suspects in mind.  As typical with Patricia Bradley’s books, there is a surprise ending to this tale!

Never Forgotten

Never Forgotten, by Hannah Linder, opens with Simon Fancourt’s father insisting he marry Georgina Whitmore.

However, this is not direction Simon wants to go.  He feels that Georgina is merely a shallow and absurd young lady!

Twelve years later, Simon is now across the ocean in North Carolina.  His beloved wife has been killed and he is left with two young children to raise.  His primary course is to return to his homeland in hopes of finding some answers concerning who is responsible for his wife’s death!

Once Simon arrives at his family home, he finds that his mother is blind and his father is dead.  His father’s will states that he must marry Georgina to receive his inheritance!

This is an interesting tale to follow.  Simon and Georgina not only have to learn to interact together; but, more importantly, they both have a mystery to solve!
