Spark of Love, by Amanda Cabot, is a tale set in Texas in the year 1857!

Alexandra Tarkington knows that she must get away from Franklin Beckman. He is an angry and violent man, whose goal is to get his hands on her inheritance. So Alexandra decides to head to Mesquite Springs by stage to meet up with her father, Calvin Tarkington. She hopes he will provide her with protection. However, Gabriel Seymour, an investigator heading out on his latest case, steps in to protect her from two rowdy cowboys on the stagecoach!

At the end of their journey, Alexandra and Gabe both end in the same town. Alexandra plans to simply visit with her father; however, Gabe has plans to arrest him. Gabe has been hired by a man who thinks Alexandra’s father is up to no good. When Alexandra first sets eyes on her father, she realizes this frail man would not be capable of protecting her. What had happened? This man, who is now going by a different name, but still has the eyes her father!

You wonder what will happen when Gabe finally discovers what is actually going on with Mr. Calvin Tarkington and more importantly how Alexandra will respond when she learns what Gabe has been investigating!

After Sir Gerald feels God leading him to assist his sister Delia’s friend, Princess Elyce, he arrives only to find the princess in a deep sleep. Gerald remembers hearing of someone saving a life, by pinching the nose and breathing into their mouth. When he takes this action, Elyce suddenly wakes up and she is not happy. Elyce is angry that this man had taken her first kiss. However, Elyce needs Gerald’s help to escape from the castle!

Soon Elyce begins to travel with her attendant, Gerald and his fellow knight through a snowstorm in an attempt to reach Prague. She hopes she can seek assistance from King Wenceslaus. Elyce must save her people from the evil plans that are part of her father’s alliance!

He had been planning to return to America with his young daughter, when suddenly Paul is asked to use his position as a front to funnel information about the Germans plans back to the American authorities. Once he decides to accept this work, Paul finds he is viewed as a traitor by many of his fellow Parisians!

When Paul and his daughter show up at Lucille’s bookstore one day, you wonder if she will trust this fellow American or simply take issue with the work taking place in his factory.  Paul and Lucille seem to be on opposite sides of this conflict. When the violence begins to escalate, you have no idea what direction Paul and Lucille will take. You wonder if they will ever be able leave the war behind!

She is not only a widow but also a patient at a specialty hospital, where she is being treated for her sleeping disorder. After Mr. Cluett, the gentleman who runs the hospital, names her as the primary beneficiary in his will, he suddenly winds up dead. Amelia has no idea what to do! 

 Not only does Amelia need to discover the cause of Mr. Cluett’s death, but according to terms of the will she must choose between two men, who will be her new husband. Unfortunately, neither man seem to be an ideal choice! 

This situation is further complicated by Mr. Ewan Hawkins, the hospital solicitor. Amelia is drawn to this man as a friend and possibility more; however, she cannot help but wonder if he could be involved in Mr. Cluett’s demise! When Amelia and Ewan begin to work together in earnest, you will not believe what they discover in the end. Lots of unknowns and mystery throughout this tale!

Mulberry Hollow, by Denise Hunter, continues the tale of the Robinson family. This tale fills you in about Avery Robinson’s life. Avery has successfully completed her schooling and now is a successful doctor attempting to set up a health clinic in her hometown. Being so near to the Appalachian Trail, Avery returns home to find a man passed out on her doorstep!

Unfortunately, Wes Garrett has a virus that may keep him from completing his trek. He wants to complete this walk, in honor of his friend who had recently passed away. However, now he must work off his medical bills, by helping refinish an apartment on Avery’s property. You can see feelings growing between Avery and Wes; however, Wes made a promise on his friend’s death to care for his sister. Now he is definitely in a quandary about which path to follow!

After Avery delivers a baby in an emergency situation, she melts in a puddle of tears in Wes’s chest. Soon Wes learns that she is crying for the children she will not have, but also for the fear of possibly having inherited a progressive disease from her mother that could someday take her life. Wes knows he should not be comforting Avery, when his friend’s sister is out there possibly waiting for him. You wonder how this situation will ever be resolved!
