The Secrets of a Scoundrel, by Mindy Burbidge Strunk, is a quick, but interesting read!

Lady Isabel Palmer has not seen Mr. Marcus Tierney in several years, not since he ended his plans to marry her sister.  When he shows up at her family's home to discuss property issues, Isabel is not sure how to handle this former friend!

Isabel felt like Marcus walked away from their friendship, as well, when he made this decision concerning his engagement.  During his time away, Marcus had acquired a reputation as a scoundrel and that is totally unacceptable to Isabel!

As Isabel and Marcus begin to spend time together again, Isabel realizes that some of her assumptions may not be accurate.  As their friendship begins to come to life again, you wil be surprised when the truth finally comes to light!

Enflamed, by Jody Hedlund, opens with Espen frustrated as he listens to the other Knights of Brethren speak fondly of their wives. He is having a hard time forgetting about his best friend’s sister, Sylvi Prestegard. This beautiful woman comes from a wealthy family; however, Espen, the son of a fisherman, can never think of being more than just friends with her!

Sylvi is not happy about the men her father has selected as potential husbands. She asks Espen to help communicate this to her father. Her father actually accuses Espen of wanting Sylvi for himself. Espen has been in love with Sylvi for years, but he knows he is not at her level and could never be considered as a potential mate!

When Espen leaves on a mission for the king, Sylvi disguises herself as a young boy to sneak aboard his boat. This is all she can think to do to avoid her father’s plans. As Espen is seeking to discover the location of the holy lamp, Sylvi wants to find out if she and Espen can ever be more than just friends!

Before you know it, Sylvi and Espen become man and wife and Espen is moving on to continue his mission to locate the holy lamp. Hold tight as both Sylvi and Espen fight hard to achieve their heart’s desire!

Rake on the Run

Rake on the Run, by Mindy Burbidge Strunk, tells the tale of Lord Nathaniel Westlake.  As he is trying to outrun his latest fiasco, Nathan inadvertently hops on a ship headed to India.  You will not believe the additional trouble he will encounter as he travels across the seas!

Nathan crosses paths with a former acquaintance, Miss Justina Tinsdale.   Unfortunately, he does not even remember her name.  Although Justina is hurt by this slight, she reaches out to Nathan when she learns that he is in very poor shape with an extreme case of seasickness.  Due to his lack of planning for this trip, Nathan has to take a room in the bowels of the ship!

This is fun tale to follow, as Nathan and Justina, not only learn more about this foreign land, but also about each other!

Reforming the Gambler

 

Reforming the Gambler, by Mincy Burbidge Strunk, will tell the tale of the reformation of Sir Ian Pinkerton.  This second-born twin, who initially receives none of the family inheritance, will soon receive a gift he never would have imagined!

When Ian takes ownership of a rundown estate, you will not believe all of the wonderful people he meets and the changes that take place through the process!

This is definitely a tale not to be missed!

Critical Alliance

Critical Alliance, by Elizabeth Goddard, is a tale that seems to be full of action from page one. When Mackenzie Hanson sees a face from her past and this man passes along a coded message, she knows she must return to her former life. Mackenzie heads back to her family’s home and their tech company in Montana in order to discover what is going on! 

Shortly after Mackenzie arrives at her family’s cabin, she finds Rowan, the brother who warned her to stay away, dead on the office floor. Mackenzie is not sure what to make of her family who have not been waiting for her with open arms. When she crosses paths with Alex Knight, another face from her past, her world becomes even more complicated! 

Alex and Mackenzie have been involved in the world of criminality and cyber security for years. More importantly, Mackenzie wonders if her criminal past has finally caught up with her. Someone is definitely watching them; however, this person’s identity is yet unknown! You will not believe it when you finally learn the identity of who is behind this cyber activity!

Fortress of Snow, by Melanie Dickerson, opens with Mazelina of Wexcombe entering her Father’s room just moments before his death. With both of her parents gone, she does not know which way to turn. Now, Mazy is at the whims of the new baron. Her own half-brother, Warin. When Warin begins making plans to marry Mazy off to the highest bidder, Mazy makes plans of her own to track down her brother John, who is training to be a knight!

Mazy is excited to see her brother when she finally arrives at the Strachleigh Castle, the estate where her brother has been living. She quickly meets Sir Berenger, the man in charge of John’s training. This man seems more open to her arrival than her own brother. After Mazy learns that her stepbrother Warin has disowned her, she also learns that her own brother John wishes she had never come. Mazy is truly on her own! 

When Sir Berenger leaves with a group of knights to fight a battle in a land far, far away, Mazy finds herself moving to London with her brother. She has always dreamed of visiting this place; however, outside of the beauty of the cathedrals, Mazy finds London very dirty and quite unsafe!

As a means of earning money, Mazy begins baking bread that she can sell. However, she wonders if the days of calm and safety she had experienced with Sir Berenger would ever come again. Two years later, you will be surprised when Sir Berenger crosses paths with Mazy on the streets of London. Hold tight to see what happens next!

Ben Mahoney, a former police officer who now trains seeing-eye dogs, is approached when his former partner’s cousin needs his help. However, Ben is uneasy about what he has heard about Lani’s reputation.  Ben helps Lani learn to function in the world without the use of her eyes. However, when they come across an illegal orchid business taking place on the island, Ben and Lani know they must discover who is behind it. When Lani is nearly shoved off a cliff during the coffee harvest, they know danger is at hand!

Ben and Lani have to draw on the talents God has given them to save them from this treacherous situation!
