As Penny Carlton and her crew attempt to transport a severely injured fifteen-year-old girl off the trails of Mount Mitchell, they have to crash land due to extreme weather. Due to a lack of funds for a satellite phone, the team cannot get a signal out to report their location. Penny will definitely have words with her supervisor when she makes it back to base!
At the same time that Penny is trying to find a new way to transport her patient to safety, Holt Satterfield, FBI agent, is heading up the same mountain. His goal is to capture Darius Rabor, an escaped prisoner who has already left several dead in his wake. When Penny and Holt finally meet up, they also cross paths with the prisoner. This final meeting results in the death of Rabor!
