Dark of Night

Dark of Night, by Colleen Coble, opens with Annie Pederson waiting to come face-to-face with Taylor, the woman who had been caring for her daughter but actually may be her long-lost sister Sarah. When she is finally staring into this woman’s eyes, she does see a hint of her sister. However, Annie fears she is being scammed! 

At the same time Annie to trying figure if her sister is truly back in her world, she has a police case where she is trying to locate a missing woman. You will not believe the trouble this woman is actually in! 

As in a typical Colleen Cobble story, this tale is full of action and a lot of unknowns. You will not be able to put this book down!

Falling for the Cowgirl, by Jody Hedlund, introduces Ivy McQuaid as she successfully brings down a steer in a roping contest. Unfortunately, in the year 1869, she can only accomplish this feat by disguising herself as a man. Ivy cannot believe it when the same day Jericho Bliss shows up. This is the very man Ivy had a crush on several years ago! 

Ivy is worried that Jericho will see through her disguise. When he realizes it is truly Ivy putting her life at risk, Jericho knows he must stop her at all costs. Not only does Jericho want to stop Ivy from getting hurt, he does not know what to do about his growing feelings for her. When Jericho gets caught by Ivy’s brothers with his arms around this beautiful woman, he knows that he has not only caused trouble with Ivy’s family, but also put his own heart at risk! 

Before you know it, Ivy is injured in a shootout between Jericho, who is actually a bounty hunter, and the outlaw he had been tracking. Now it seems Ivy’s brothers may never allow any relationship between Ivy and Jericho! 

After Ivy recovers from the complications of a gunshot wound, she learns that Jericho used the bounty reward money to purchase the ranch she had been saving for.  Ivy is surprised when he actually gives the ranch to her.  The only problem is that Jericho is not there.  As a bounty hunter, he is taking the outlaws to jail.  You wonder if Jericho will ever join her on her new property! 

Hold tight to see the ending of this fast-paced tale.  It is definitely worth the wait!!

Midnight’s Budding Morrow

Midnight’s Budding Morrow, by Carolyn Miller, opens with Sarah Drayton making plans to visit her best friend’s family home. The only hesitation she has is that she has no desire to cross paths with her friend’s brother, James Langley. Sarah’s lone interaction with this man left much to be desired! 

When Sarah arrives at Langley House, she senses a feeling of emptiness in this home. Not only does James show up, but before you know it, her best friend actually elopes. Then the most surprising turn of events shows Sarah heading down the aisle to pledge her life to James in marriage! 

You will see Sarah and James deal with hard trials as you journey through the pages of this tale. By the final page, you will see God make something beautiful from the ashes!

A Quilted Christmas

A Quilted Christmas, by Melody Carlson, introduces Vera Swanson on the opening pages of this tale. This elderly woman has loved and celebrated Christmas for most of her life. Now, after the passing of her husband and her two grown children moving away with her grandchildren, Vera will likely spend the holiday alone. She definitely has no incentive to decorate! 

When a young girl shows up on her doorstep saying her mother is in trouble, Vera jumps in to help. Fiona’s mother needs medical assistance. After Vera drops Fiona’s mother at the hospital, she brings Fiona home with her. After Fiona sees a beautiful quit in Vera’s condo, she convinces Vera that they should make her mother a similar quilt for Christmas! 

Vera is surprised when suddenly she is meeting people in town who are interested in helping put this quilt together. This tale gets very interesting as four women with very different personalities gather together to create this quilt. You will be surprised to see what changes come about in this town by the final page!
