Like a Winter Snow, by Lindsay Harrel, is an interesting read.  You will meet Joy Beckman on the opening pages.  You soon learn that she left her counseling practice the previous year to help her aging parents.  After Joy realized that her mother's Altheimer condition was advancing, she just had to stop her life and help!

When Joy travels to Cornwall, England, to take part in a dear friends wedding, her life is about to dramatically change.  The moment she crosses paths with Oliver Lincoln, she knows her life will never be the same!

The connection Joy feels with Oliver can only be a gift from God; however, she cannot think about making plans with this handsome man, when her parents are still in need of help.  Watch as Joy struggles with whether she still needs to be that source of help, or if God has another plan in store!

Anthony and Verity are immediately drawn toward each other; however, they do not know how to make the other fit into their world.  Anthony sees Verity as a very young girl, who has no faith in his God and Verity sees Anthony as a man of low rank, who will never be excepted in her society!

I enjoyed reading Lynette Eason's latest, Protecting Tanner Hollow.  This book contains four novellas that tell a bit of suspense that takes place in the sleepy town of Tanner Hollow!

These four tales Lethal Homecoming, Lethal Conspiracy, Lethal Secrets and Lethal Agenda are loosely connected.  Some of the characters in the first tale are brought through the remaining stories.

This book tells about how the citizens of this town come together to assist their neighbors in times of need!

Always Look Twice




On the opening pages of Elizabeth Goddard's latest tale, Always Look Twice, you will sense the suspense that fills the pages of this book.  Harper Reynolds is in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, taking photographs of the nature that fills the Bridger-Teton National Forest.  As Harper is focused on taking a photo of a grizzly bear, out of the corner of her eye, she sees a flash of pink, it is a woman who seems to be running for her life.  Harper also sees a brief image of a man with a gun, who suddenly takes a shot at the woman.  When Harper sees the woman fall to the ground, she runs for her own life!

The next person Harper encounters is Heath McKade, who is leading a group of tourists through the forest.  Heath, being a former Green Beret, heard the shot and came running.  Little did he know he would encounter Harper, a friend he had not seen since grade-school.  Now she is a full-grown beautiful woman!

Heath and Harper soon team-up to try to discover what actually happened in the forest.  The situation gets more complicated when explosions start happening around town.  Are they connected?  Hang on to see what Heath and Harper finally discover, and if their former friendship will grow into something even greater!

Hereafter

Jody Hedlund brings her Lost Princesses series to a close with a splash.  Hereafter will fill in details about what has been happening in Emmeline's life.  This princess has been living deep in the forest of Mercia.  Emmaline's adoptive parents have told her the truth about the fate of her actual parents and she has been trained to always be cautious of strangers.  However, one day this training is all for naught, when Prince Ethelrex, son of King Ethelwulf, suddenly enters her world!

After Emmeline runs out of her family's cottage in a moment of anger, she returns to that find her adoptive parents have been captured by Prince Ethelrex.  Emmeline feels like her only choice to save her parents is to place herself into the prince's hands!

Emmeline's father, a former elite soldier, has trained Emmeline in tactics she can use to protect herself.  You soon will see Emmeline make an attempt to escape. However, the prince, also being an elite soldier, recaptures her and brings her back to his camp.  Before you know it, the prince seals the deal by insisting a wedding ceremony be performed!

At this point, you have been prepared for an exciting tale.  You know that by the final page, Hereafter will come to a grand conclusion!

In Jen Turano's latest tale, Diamond in the Rough, you will meet Miss Poppy Garrison.  Poppy has come to New York City to stay with her grandparents as she takes part in the social season.  Poppy has grown up in the country on a farm, where her parents have been breeding horses.  Country living is all Poppy has known.  She will soon run into a lot of rules and ways of living that she knows nothing about!

Poppy's grandmother, grand dame of the social scene, is only interested in Poppy making a success of her first time out in society.  You will soon see Poppy causing one fiasco after another as she attempts to blend into this new world!

When Poppy meets Reginald Blackburn, newly arrived from England to help his cousin attempt to find a bride, her life is about to get even more interesting.  Hang on as you watch Poppy and Reginald find themselves in the midst of some situations, of which society would never approve!

Hang on until the final page.  You will not believe the ending of this tale!

A Pursuit of Home







Kristi Ann Hunter concludes her Haven Manor series with A Pursuit of Home.   This final tale will fill in a lot of the details of Jess' life before she came to live with Kit and Daphne at Haven Manor.  You will learn of the rebellion her family was struck by in her former homeland.  When Jess learns that her brother is still alive, she is soon pulled into tracking down clues to assist him regain his place on the throne.  Jess draws in Derek Thornbury to utilize his knowledge of the art world!

This is a fast-moving story as Jess and Derek travel across England looking for a set of famous artwork, that originated in her homeland.  You will cross paths with several characters, Miranda and Ryland, the Duke of Marshington, from an earlier series.  It is fun to revisit this former story, as well as, learn the final details of Jess' tale!

A Distance Too Grand







A Distance Too Grand is the first novel in Regina Scott's American Wonders Collection.  You will meet Meg Pero as she attempts to join a military expedition set to begin exploring and documenting the land around the Grand Canyon.  The year is 1871, and it is not easy for a young woman to join this group as their photographer.  The leader of the group, Captain Ben Coleridge, is a former associate of Meg's.  You wonder if this will help or hinder Meg in her quest to find work!

Fortunately for Meg, the group is already behind schedule, so Ben quickly adds her to their ranks.  Meg has traveled for years with her photographer father.  Now that he has passed away, Meg must find her own way in the world, and she thinks this might be her best shot.  Ben also has an additional goal for this trip, he needs to find some clues to his missing father's whereabouts!

Watch and see how both Ben and Meg work to accomplish their individual goals: will they end up together or will they be even further apart?

Christmas in Winter Hill

Melody Carlson's latest Christmas novella is titled Christmas in Winter Hill.  You will meet Krista Galloway and her young daughter, Emily, on the opening pages of this Christmas tale.  Krista is relocating to Winter Hill to begin her new job as the city manager.  She is not sure how she will survive this move.  Krista must adjust to a transition from Phoenix to a small town, which is known both for its snow and its celebration of Christmas!

This is a fun and quick read.  You will watch Krista attempt to fit into her new home and workplace environment.  You will see her run into bumps along the way in each location.  Krista has a coworker who wanted her job and now seems out to get her!

It is interesting to see where Krista will land by the final page!

What can go wrong in a town that advertises itself as "the Home Of Christmasville"?

Foremost








Jody Hedlund has added, Foremost, to her Lost Princesses series.  This tale is an exciting continuation to the storyline that began in the novella, Always.  After the death of their parents, three princesses have been scattered throughout the kingdom of Mercia for their protection.  Lady Maribela has been living in an isolated abbey and is planning on becoming a nun herself to use the art of healing that she has developed!

When an elderly nun visits the abbey, she comes bearing news.  Lady Maribela is actually one of the lost princesses and now must be secretly transported to meet up with her older sister, Queen Adelaide.  Edmund Chambers, who came to the abbey as a young boy at the same time as Maribela, is chosen as the man to assist Mariabela on her journey!

This is an interesting tale, as you see how Edmund is able to keep Maribela protected on their journey north, through dangerous territory.  It is also interesting to see how God provides a new opportunity for Maribela to utilize her healing skills in a brand new way!

Felicia and Lance slowly learn to work together, as they attempt to protect the newborn twins, as well as the 3-year daughter, from harm!

This book is a quick read and a great introduction to this new series!

The latest book from Erin Bartels is The Words Between Us.   I love this original title and Erin has written a tale that is just as original!

Through the words of this book, you will walk with Robin Windsor in her current life, as well as, in the days following both her parents being locked up in prison.  You will experience Robin's frustration as an adult attempting to keep her bookstore functioning, and you will also see her life as a teenager trying to fit in somewhere!

Your heart will go out to her, when she loses the boy she fell in love with as a young woman; and you will experience her joy, when God brings a new love across her path as a grown woman!

This is definitely a tale not to be missed!

Melanie Dickerson's latest young-adult novel, The Piper's Pursuit, is a play on the age-old Grimms fairy tale, The Pied Piper.  This new tale is set in the middle ages in a town by the name of Hamlin; however, you will also encounter out-of-control rats, as well as a character, who uses flute playing to control the young children in this town!

The main characters in this tale, Katerina and Steffan, will take up the fight against this evil character, who is using his control of the children in a way you would never imagine.  By the final page you will see Katerina and Steffan utilize their faith in God to bring them through this trial!

The latest from Colleen Coble is entitled Strands of Truth.  This tale is full of suspense that will have you rapidly turning page after page to reach the conclusion.  Following her mother's sudden death, Harper Taylor has found few safe places to turn.  She is blessed the day Oliver Jackson takes this teenager under his wing to help Harper find direction; unfortunately, Oliver's own family is not happy with this addition!

The book will fast-forward twenty years and you will see Harper trying to locate any family she may have in this world.  When her search makes a hit on a possible sibling, she is thrilled.  Harper is hoping for a real connection; however, she is not prepared for the violence that is about to come her way!

Before you know it, the suspense will shift into full-speed: first, a man attempts to kidnap Harper and then, Oliver actually comes up missing.  Soon Harper and Oliver's son, Ridge, join forces to try and discover what in the world is going on!

Glitter of Gold




Glitter of Gold is the latest from Liz Johnson.  This tale will take you down south to Savannah, GA.  You will meet Anne Norris and see how a poor choice has left a negative mark on her life, but you will also see how now she is trying to build a new life for herself!

When Anne takes a walk on the beach after a severe hurricane hits the area, she comes upon a piece of gold protruding from the sand.  Anne has been running a business, leading tours of the area telling tales of the pirates of old.  So when Anne sees this bit of gold, she thinks it may be of value!

Anne visits a local museum looking for information and she meets Carter Hale.  Little does she know, Carter has been searching for this bit of gold for years.  This find has come at just the right time, both Carter and Anne's businesses are in financial trouble!

While you read, you will learn about how Carter and Anne deal with this important find.  You will also learn about a tale from the 17th century, contained in a diary that has been in the Hale families' possession for years.  It is interesting to see how God uses this situation to meet needs in both Anne's and Carter's lives!

The story is set in Quebec in the year 1759.  In those days, the world was full of danger and this book recounts the details.  You soon learn that Catherine has been introduced to the One who is all-powerful.  Hold on to see if Catherine will trust in Him, through all of the trials set before her!

Parts of this book were difficult to read; however, I think the details are true concerning this time in our history!

Midnight on the River Grey, the latest from Abigail Wilson, will give you a glimpse into the life of Rebecca Hunter.  In the early 1800’s and after the deaths of both of her parents, Rebecca has been left under the guardianship of Mr. Lewis Browning, a man who is surrounded by mystery!

As Rebecca and her aunt leave their home in London to relocate to Mr. Browning’s home, Greybourne Manor, she has no idea of what to expect.  Will she find clues concerning her brother Jacob’s recent death or will she simply be left with unanswered questions?

The beginning of this book is a bit hard to follow; however, the final pages will bring this gothic tale to a great conclusion!

Worthy Rebel is an interesting tale from Jody Hedlund.  Lady Isabelle, Countess of Ulster, is trying to find a nobleman willing to marry her and to help save all the tenants on her family's property.  After her stepmother locates Sir Thomas Neville, Isabelle hopes this will be the answer.  When Isabelle visits Sir Thomas's home, he presents her with a gift.  The hanging of several young tenants who had thrown rocks at her!

Isabelle immediately knows that she wants nothing to do with this man.  She plans with her manservant to run away, before Sir Thomas can force her to marry.  When Isabelle is hurt during her escape, she ends up finding a safe place to recover with Cole Warwick, his mother and his niece, a tenant family living on Sir Thomas' land!

Isabelle tries to keep her identity a secret while she is recovering; however, secrets have a way of being exposed.  Hang on and see how Isabelle and Cole handle the consequences when the truth about Isabelle is finally revealed!

Eden, set in Savage Wells, Wyoming Territory.  This tale is focused on Gideon MacNamara, the town doctor, who also provides services throughout many towns in the surrounding area.  The bottom line is he needs help.  Gideon decides he will set himself up with a mail-order bride, who is also a nurse.  This plan fails when Miriam Bricks arrives thinking that she is responding to a need for a nurse, not that the entire town, including the doctor, are expecting a bride!

As Gideon and Miriam spend time adjusting to this awkward relationship, as doctor and nurse and not as husband and wife, you will learn that Miriam has a secret that has the power to destroy everything that Miriam and Gideon are attempting to build!

Summer by the Tides is the latest from Denise Hunter.  On the opening pages of this book, you will meet Maddie Monroe, as she is losing both her boyfriend and her job all in the same moment.  On top of it all, Maddie learns from her grandmother’s neighbor, Conner Sullivan, that her grandmother is actually missing!

Maddy is soon heading for her grandmother’s hometown of Sea Haven, North Carolina.  Maddy has so many fun memories of summers spent with her family in this town.  The thought of her grandmother being missing leaves her not knowing which way to turn.  When Connor informs Maddy that her sisters,  Nora and Emma, will also be in town to help in the search, Maddy is concerned.  Nora and Emma have been in a feud and have not spoken to each other in years!

This tale gets very interesting as you see these sisters deal with their past, as well as, all of the new changes that have come into their current lives.   Denise Hunter will have you turning page after page to discover where the lives of these quarreling sisters land at the end of it all!

You have been introduced to Harold Jonquil in previous books; however, this tale will present a full tale about his life.  As an older son in the Jonquil clan, Harold has lived a life of ease.  When he selects his livelihood as a town vicar, Harold soon finds himself living on a level of poverty.  As he adjusts how he lives to try to make ends meet, Harold feels like he will never have enough to support a family and thus, will have to proceed through life alone!

When Sarah Sarvol returns to town, Harold finds himself at odds with his former friend.  Harold’s personality has changed from the man Sarah feel in love with years ago.  As you see these former friends banter back and forth, you will see a new friendship developing!

This tale with catch you up on the lives of the entire Jonquil family.  It is fun to learn the state of all of their lives!

Carrie Stuart Parks latest tale, Fragments of Fear, is the book for you if you enjoy a good suspense novel.  You will meet Evelyn McTavish on page one.  As you try to decipher who Evelyn is and where she is headed, you will slowly be drawn to this ‘wounded’ woman.  Evelyn or ‘McTavish’, as she prefers, is simply trying to make sense of her world!

McTavish soon teams up with undercover FBI agent, Sawyer Price.  As you watch these two try to make sense of the clues placed before them, you will see McTavish slowly open herself up to the  kindness Sawyer offers!

This is a fast-paced tale that will bring you barreling to the final conclusion.  It is definitely a tale not to be missed!

A Reluctant Bride





Jody Hedlund's latest tale, A Reluctant Bride, tells the tale of Mercy Wilkins.  Life on the streets of London is bleak for Mercy.  It is sadly a life filled with poverty, little to no food and unfortunately, death!

Mercy suddenly finds a way out.  She joins a group of women heading across the ocean to Canada to find a new life.  The leaders of this group plan to match these women with men looking for a wife.  Mercy merely wants to find a job to help support her!

Mercy befriends the ship surgeon, Joseph Corville, as she works as his assistant.  When Joseph and Mercy begin to feel something more than friendship, they both feel it cannot go any further.  Mercy comes from the lowest economic level of London society, while Joseph is wealthy and titled!

This tale is a bit of a slow read; however, you need to stick around until the end to discover the place God has for Mercy and Joseph!

No Ocean Too Wide is the latest from Carrie Turansky.  This tale will introduce you to the McAlister family.   After their father dies while on his job, this family has to learn to survive on the mean streets of London, England.  Life is hard in the early 1900s; however, when their mother becomes ill and is quickly transported to the hospital, her children do not know which way to turn!

After these young children are placed in an orphanage, their older sister, Laura, runs into trouble tracking them down.  Thinking their mother has died, these children agree to be transported to another land to find a new home.  When Laura learns that plans have been made to ship her siblings, along with hundreds of other children, across the ocean to Canada, she knows that she must find someone who will help her search for them!

This tale will keep you on the edge of your seat as you see all of the places and tough situations that Laura will encounter along the way.  Laura is blessed by God when her former employer’s son, Andrew Fraser, a British lawyer, decides to lend a hand in her search.  Andrew is looking into the companies who are placing these children into jobs or with families in a new land!

Will these children’s lives be better or will they be taken advantage of?  Hold on to discover the answer to this question!

Becky Wade wraps up her A Bradford Sister Romance series with her book, Sweet on You.  Britt, the youngest daughter in the Bradford family, has been quietly developing new chocolates in her shop in her hometown ever since she finished her culinary training in France!

Cara heads to London, not knowing which way to turn.  Should she run toward her sisters for shelter or should she attempt moving toward her interest in art as a new direction for her life?  Cara soon crosses paths with Langham Burke, the younger brother of Henry Burke, the current Earl of Morestowe.  Langham is also trying to find his place in the art world, so as fellow artists, Cara and Langham  decide to team up as they both try to find their way in this world!

Before you know it, Cara's world is suddenly wrapped up in the Burke family dynamics.  A world she knows nothing about!

Hold on as Cara stumbles down this new path and learns more than she ever imagined.  Definitely a journey worth taking part in!

Suzanne Woods Fisher's new contemporary series begins with On a Summer Tide.  This tale opens with Paul Grayson announcing to his daughters Camden, Madison and Blaine that he just sold their family home in Boston and is moving to a remote island off the shores of Maine.  Paul's daughters are in shock.  This action is so out of left field that they are worried he may have dementia!

Maddie travels with her father to Maine to check out his new property.  Both Maddie and her father feel like they have stepped back in time.  There are no modern day conveniences, like fast-food and cellular service!

Once Cam and Blaine join the investigation of this small island, you will see the family dynamics come out in force.  Past hurts and current complications soon become apparent, as these sisters work together to help their father settle into his new home!

Watch everyone leap into action after Cam creates a plan to restore the campground her father has purchased.  At the same time, these sisters each have life trials with which they are dealing.  You will learn very interesting information about the pasts of each member of the Grayson family by the end of this tale!

Colin continues to work on the war effort, as he translates messages in a MI8 office.  Colin is surprised when he suddenly  receives a message from Jewel Reyer, a woman he loved and promised to return for.  However, when Colin makes his way to France, he does not find Jewel waiting, but instead her sister Johanna!

This tale is full of intrigue and action, as you follow Colin and Johanna throughout the French countryside as they attempt to locate Jewel and discover what is happening with the war effort!

As Cordelia and the children learn to adjust to their new lifestyle in the country, Cordelia has another fear.  She now is physically too close to her late husband's family. This family of smuggler's have a very dangerous way of life!

Hold on tight as you watch Cordelia attempt to avoid interaction with the Greythorne family, while trying to provide for the well-being of the young lives in her care.  This is a tale not to be missed!

A Hero for Miss Hatherleigh, by Carolyn Miller, introduces this author's latest series, Regency Brides: Daughters of Aynsley.  This  series promises to be as good as her previous ones!

In this first tale, you will meet Caroline Hatherleigh, the eldest daughter of Viscount Aynsley, as she is sent to the country to stay with her grandmother.  Caroline's mother wants to avoid scandal, involving an acquaintance of Caroline's, from affecting her second daughter Cecily's entrance into English society!

You soon will see Caroline form new friendships with Mr. Gideon Kirby and his sister Emma.  Gideon has come to the countryside from London to hunt for fossils pertaining to former days.  He has brought his sister Emma along, in an effort to protect her from her abusive husband back in London!

This is a fun tale to follow as you watch these friendships develop.  Of course, there will be bumps along the way.  However, in the end, you will see Caroline come to a new understanding of her Heavenly Father!

I am definitely looking forward to the next tale in this series!

The Memory House



I absolutely loved Rachel Hauck's latest book, The Memory House.  This is a tale you will not be able to put down!

On the opening pages of this book, you will meet NYPD cop, Beck Holiday, as she is chasing down a drug dealer.  After Beck takes out her frustration on the perpetrator, she is placed on a month-long leave, with no pay!

Beck's life is further complicated when she receives news that she has been given an inheritance from Everleigh Applegate, a woman she does not even remember!

As you learn more details about Beck's life, including the fact that she has struggled with memory loss ever since her father's death on 911, you will also learn more about Everleigh Applegate's own life struggles.

As you bounce between present day and the 1950s, you will be surprised by all of the facts that tie these two women together.  This is definitely a tale you will not want to miss!

After Penny and John return the body of Raddo, the outlaw who had been out to destroy Penny's family, they are soon kidnapped in this small western town.  This group of kidnappers seem to have vengeance on their minds!

Hold on tight to see where this tale will take you.  When Penny and John find themselves in all sorts of difficult situations, including being forced to marry each other, you have no idea what to expect next!

It is interesting to see how all the pieces of this tale come together by the final page!

Lauren Denton tells the stories of three different women in one book entitled Glory Road.  On the opening pages, you meet Lauren McBride, a divorced mother, trying to run her own business, while caring for her fourteen-year-old daughter, Evan, and her sixty-nine-year-old mother, Gus!

Evan is just beginning her teenage years with all the complications that this time brings.  Unfortunately, Gus is experiencing the initial days of struggling with memory lapses!

This book is broken down into chapters about each character: Lauren, Evan and Gus.  You will get an up close look, as these three southern women learn to deal with the changes in their lives as they live out their lives on old Glory Road!

Courting Mr. Emerson is the latest from Melody Carlson.  You will meet Mr. Emerson on the opening pages of this tale.  George Emerson is finishing up his thirty years as a high school English teacher.  The world has changed so much that he is ready to close this door.  As George begins to think about how he will spend his retirement years, he crosses paths with Willow West.  This woman is the polar opposite of George.  Willow, who formerly lived on a commune, does not fit into George's OCD world!

It is interesting to watch how Willow, now a Christian, works to befriend this troubled man.  You will learn about all the troubles that both Willow and George have endured; and soon see how God will show up and make change in their lives!

Will George and Willow remain friends, or will their relationship grow into something much greater?

Daughters of Northern Shores


Daughters of Northern Shores, by Joanne Bischof, continues the tale of the Norgaard brothers.  You learned of Thor Norgaard in the first tale, Sons of Blackbird Mountain.  This second tale discusses the journey of Haaken Norgaard.  After Haaken offends Thor's soon-to-be wife, Aven, he runs away to sail the high seas!

Following  several years of sailing around the world, Haaken finally decides to return home, hoping to find forgiveness.  Unfortunately, when Haaken shows up unannounced at the family orchard, instead of open arms, he finds his family ready to go to battle with the Norgaard's neighbors!

Even though the year is 1895 and the Civil War is long over, their neighbors still want to carry on with the Confederate mindset.  Now the Norgaard's feel that their families are in danger, as well!

Hang on to see the battle that actually breaks out on their mountain.  As Haaken dives in to protect his family, at all costs, his mind cannot keep from wandering back to the beautiful widow he left behind in the countryside of Norway.  This high-paced tale will come to an interesting conclusion!
