Freedom's Light
The majority of Colleen Coble's books take place in the current day settings; however, Freedom's Light occurs in the days of our country's founding. This tale will follow Hannah Thomas, who after her husband's death, attempts to keep their lighthouse functioning, providing a light to warn the ships at sea of the rocky coastline!
After Hannah helps rescue a sea captain, Birch Meredith, whose ship did crash on the shore, she has no idea how complicated her life is about to become. While Hannah is not sure what side of the conflict Birch is on at first, there is something about him that draws her!
When Hannah learns that Birch's younger brother's death was caused by a British soldier, she is determined to lead Birch toward God as the One to make things right. Birch is just as determined to take the matter into his own hands!
When you see Birch finally get his enemy in his sights, you wonder if he will take action himself or if he will trust God for the final act. Hold on to see where each character in this tale ends up, when the conflicts are finally all over!
I prefer Colleen Coble's suspense-filled tales; however, the historical tale, like Freedom's Light, is definitely worth the read!
I received this book from Thomas Nelson in exchange for my honest review.
