How to Catch a Prince

How to Catch a Prince is the latest novel by Rachel Hauck.  This book tells the tale of Corina Del Ray and Prince Stephen of Brighton.

Corina married Stephen in a secret ceremony before he headed off to Afghanistan.  However, when he returned following an injury, Corina was suddenly left with two holes in her life:  first, her twin brother, Carlos, was dead and second, her husband was a broken man, who sends her away.   All Corina could do was return home to try to put the pieces of her life back together again!

 Five years later, Stephen suddenly returns to Corina's life.  The marriage he thought was never recorded is on the books.  He and Corina are actually still husband and wife!

This tale gets very complicated at this point. Corina and Stephen must go through both good and bad times to finally bring them back to the place that God has in store for them!

Deadly Echoes

Deadly Echoes is the second book in Nancy Mehl's Finding Sanctuary series. 

Sarah Miller has been leading a quiet life in the rural town of Sanctuary.  Her life is about to take a drastic turn.  Sarah is surprised to find the county sheriff, Paul Gleason, in her classroom early one day.  When she is informed that her sister Hannah has been murdered, she instantly flashes back to the day her parents were murdered eighteen years ago!

When the police department wants to blame the cause of Hannah's death on a burglary gone wrong, Sarah enlists Paul's help to take a deeper look into the details of Hannah's death.  Too much about her death resembles what happened to her parents!

This suspense-filled tale will keep you on the edge of your seat as Sarah and Paul work to discover who killed her family!

Betting on Hope

Betting on Hope is the first novel in Debra Clopton's latest series.  Each book in this series tells the story of one of the Monahan brothers who live and work on the Four Hearts ranch. 

First,  you meet Tru Monahan, a well-known cowboy, as he is being interviewed by Maggie Hope.  Maggie, the writer of an advice column for a Dallas newpaper, is filling in for her reporter friend who is sick.  This interview goes from bad to worse in the first few minutes and before Maggie knows it, Tru is making a bet with her that he can teach her to ride a horse! 

Maggie's boss wants to take advantage of this publicity and Maggie soon finds herself living at the ranch in Wishing Springs, learning how to get on a horse for the first time in her life.  This is an interesting tale as you learn the details of both Maggie and Tru's past.  They both carry secrets that they don't want to come to light!

You will not discover how they deal with these secrets and their feelings until the final pages of this book.  Hang on for the ride!

Even Now

I recently picked up the novel, Even Now by Karen Kingsbury.  I had not read this book in several years and thought I would re-familiarize with the storyline before I read the next book in this series, Ever After.

Previously, I had read Karen Kingsbury's Redemption series and I could not keep the tears from falling!  I was not brought to tears with Even Now; however, my heart went out to Lauren Gibbs and Shane Galanter.  These two teenagers have to deal with their worst nightmare.  What will they do after they learn that they are expecting a baby?

This is an interesting tale to witness as you learn how both the teenagers and the parents decide to deal with the situation, which seems out of their control.  The author tells the story when the teens initially learn about their baby and then picks up the story again eighteen years later.

Life's circumstances have affected both Lauren and Shane, and their parents, in very different ways.  Some of the characters in this book are drawn closer to God, while others have closed the door on their belief in God!

This book was definitely worth the read!

Brentwood's Ward

Brentwood's Ward is the first novel by Michelle Griep that I have read and this book had my interest from the first page!

When you are introduced to Emily Payne, you instantly see that she is a  young girl who is used to getting her own way!  Next, you meet Nicholas Brentwood on his way to meet Emily's father.  Mr. Payne is a rich gentleman who is seeking a skilled man to keep an eye on his daughter, while he is out of town.  Nicholas has no idea what will be involved with keeping track of Emily Payne!

This is an interesting tale, as you watch Nicholas run around London attempting to keep Emily safe from thieves who want to get their hands on her father's money.  On the pages of this book, you will see Emily transform from a selfish girl who thinks only of her own desires to a young woman who God allows to see the needs that others have, all around her every day!

Follow Nicholas and Emily to the final pages of this book, where they end up on the wharfs of London with only their faith and trust in God to see them through!

Paper Hearts

Paper Hearts by Courtney Walsh tells the tale of Abigail Pressman, a young woman who lives in the tourist town, Loves Park.  Abigail runs a small book store and coffee shop that she dreams of one day expanding into something so much more!

Her dream dies when a doctor, Jacob Willoughby, moves into town with his dream of opening a medical practice in Loves Park. When he purchases the building, where Abigail is currently renting space for her store, Abigail does not know what to do.  Not only does she have a new landlord to deal with, she also has to deal with his plans to take over her space to enlarge his medical practice!

Abigail does all she can to save her store, while Jacob can only hope that the secrets from his past stay hidden.  As they both work hard to save their dreams, they both forget that God is the one in control of their lives!  Will they learn to trust Him with all the details?

The first half of this book was not easy to read; however, for the last 100 or so pages, I could hardly put the book down, waiting for the ending to Abigail and Jacob's tale.  It was definitely worth the wait!
